Should I use a Functional Resume or Chronological Resume?
The choice of which type of resume is just as individual as which type of car you drive or which ball team you cheer for.   What’s important is to know what you want to accomplish then choose the type that will get the job done for you.  A resume is only a tool.  There are many tools in the shed.  Not all of them do the same job so choosing the right tool will help you get the work done easier and with more satisfaction.

How do I know what questions to ask at the interview?
The questions you ask should come from the research you’ve done before the interview.  What do you want to know about this company, this new supervisor, the workplace and the new teammates you might have?  Sometimes the questions you use are designed to gain that information and other times you may need clarification on something that was said in the interview.  The important thing here is to make sure you have SOME Questions.  Many employers say the reason they didn't hire a particular candidate is because they didn't ask any questions when given the opportunity.

Why do so many employers use the on-line application and not the old paper applications?
It is sheer convenience and a money-saver for the company.  Electronic screening of applications is 100 times faster or better than screening done by human beings in the personnel department.  Saving time is saving MONEY.  All employers, whether they be For-Profit or Non-Profit, are interested in the bottom line.  It's how they stay in business and keep their jobs.  It's the way things are today.  Q: Why does a lion roar in the jungle? A: Because he CAN!   It is true with employers too.  Why? because if they CAN save money, they WILL.

I don't want to learn computers just so I can be hired.  I don't like computers and I don't think I should have to learn how to use them.
Not having a choice is always a tough and bitter pill to swallow.  However it is probably not going to change back they way you may prefer.  It will change, but in the other direction-toward more computer usage, not less.   Not wanting to learn computers in today's world is like not wanting to drive or ride because you don't think vehicles are safe.  You'll still get to where you're going, but it will take a lot longer.  Without a computer application, you can still be hired.  There will always be someone just like you who may also be an employer and maybe you'll be a good match.  The odds of that actually happening in your lifetime however, are slimmer than winning the Powerball®.   What's really important to understand here is that you have 100% FULL control and power over this situation.  It's up to you to make your own decisions but isn't it tough enough to find suitable employment without standing in your own way?

When I go to a JOB FAIR, I know I'm going to be standing in lines, sometimes outside in the weather. I like to dress comfortably, in soft shoes and relaxed clothing because I'll likely be there most of the day.  I was told by a recruiter that I should dress more business like and not so casual.  What is accepted by employers.
Each employer is as different as each snowflake is different.   What is important here is to make the best impression you can. Whether you're talking to a recruiter or directly to a hiring authority, you won't go to the next step if your first impression is less than shinny.  Dress according to "typical work standards" for the industry you're seeking.  Regardless of the industry, ALWAYS dress in clean and well maintained attire.  Soiled and torn apparel is a turn-off to most employers and a dead-giveaway that you may lack some attention to detail.

Why are JOB CLUBS so much of a rage and what happens at an actual club meeting.
Job Clubs are certainly springing up all over the country.  One great reason is: THEY WORK!  Job Clubs are a proven method of returning to work sooner rather than later.  Job Clubs provide a way to learn and grow in an informal setting contrasted with workshops and seminars.  Job Clubs provide a certain peer-to-peer Support Network and professional networking opportunities.  Networking has been proven statistically to be the #1 way to find a job.   SEE THE POST ON JOB CLUBS.

What about REFERENCES on my Resume?
References are a necessity at some point in the job search process but not necessarily at this point. There are several reasons why this is a good question?  The answers are too many and too varied to post here.  See the POST on References for more.
